ALP CBT-02 Test Series (Part A + Part B)

CBT 2 has 175 questions in 2 hours 30 minutes, split into two parts. Part A: 100 questions, 90 minutes, 1/3 negative marking, qualifying at 40/30/30/25% by category. Part B: 75 questions, 60 minutes, 1/3 negative marking, qualifying at a flat 35% for everyone. Both parts are attempted in a single sitting.

No. Part B is purely qualifying — its marks do not contribute to your merit. But it is a hard gate: fail Part B and you are eliminated regardless of your Part A score. Only Part A counts toward merit, weighted 50:50 against your CBAT score under CEN 01/2026.

35%, for every candidate irrespective of category or community. There is no relaxation for SC, ST, OBC-NCL, EWS, PwBD or Ex-Servicemen. This is the only stage of the ALP selection where the qualifying bar is identical for all candidates.

Select the trade of the ITI qualification you applied with. Part B follows the DGT syllabus for that trade. Trades fall into four groups — Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical and Automobile. You can change your selected trade any time from your dashboard if you are eligible under more than one.

We currently cover three trades: Electrician, Fitter and Mechanic Diesel, each with its own dedicated series built on that trade's DGT syllabus. Other trades — Wireman, MMV, Turner, Machinist, Instrument Mechanic, RAC, Electronics Mechanic, Millwright — are not covered yet. CBT 1, CBT 2 Part A and CBAT are fully usable regardless of trade.

Part A carries 50% of your final merit and is completely trade-independent, as are CBT 1 and CBAT. Part B is only a 35% qualifying gate that adds nothing to your rank. So the parts that decide your selection are fully covered — you would just be sourcing Part B practice for your trade elsewhere. We would rather tell you that upfront than take your money and let you find out.

No. General Awareness on Current Affairs was removed from Part A under CEN 01/2026. Part A now covers three subjects: Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, and Basic Science & Engineering. It did appear in earlier CENs, which is why outdated content is still circulating.

RRB shortlists 8× the number of ALP vacancies, community-wise, based on Part A performance. Candidates must also have cleared the 35% Part B bar to be considered. This is a much tighter filter than CBT 1's 15× shortlist.

For CEN 01/2026, final merit is CBT 2 Part A : CBAT in a 50:50 ratio. For the earlier CEN 01/2025 cycle, the ratio is 70:30. CBT 1 marks and CBT 2 Part B marks do not contribute to merit in either cycle.

Yes. Alongside separate Part A and Part B tests, we run full-length 175-question, 150-minute combined mocks that replicate the real single-sitting format. Training the two halves only in isolation leaves you unprepared for the transition and the fatigue.

Yes — English and हिन्दी side by side on every question, including trade-specific Part B content. Trade terminology is given in both languages, which matters because DGT trade vocabulary often differs between the Hindi and English question papers.

For CEN 01/2025, CBT 2 was held on 28 July 2026 and the provisional answer key was released on 5 August 2026; the result is awaited as of 21 August 2026. For CEN 01/2026, no CBT 2 date has been announced — CBT 1 has not yet been scheduled.
